The International Road Federation (IRF Global) will hold the ninth edition of its flagship Roads to Tomorrow (R2T) Conference & Expo in San Francisco on November 3–6, 2026. Held under the theme “Transforming the Future of Mobility,” the event has begun announcing its speaker lineup.
Organized biennially by the International Road Federation, the Global R2T Conference will take place this year in San Francisco, USA. The event is expected to bring together more than 1,000 senior decision-makers, engineers, researchers and technology leaders from around the world under its main theme, “Transforming the Future of Mobility.”
AI-Powered Road Safety Tops the Agenda
The conference program focuses on how digitalization, artificial intelligence, advanced materials and smart mobility solutions are reshaping transport infrastructure. Key topics include AI-supported road safety applications, performance gains in asset management, and innovative project delivery models. The event’s core ambition is to bridge the gap between research and practice, turning pilot projects into scalable real-world solutions.
The speaker lineup features officials from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s advanced automation safety units, roadside safety researchers from leading universities, and representatives of the industry’s top technology companies. IRF will continue announcing speakers gradually in the run-up to the event.
“Ignite” Competition on the Expo Floor
This year’s accompanying expo introduces a notable innovation: R2T Floor Ignite stage presentations. During peak networking hours on the exhibition floor, participating companies will pitch their solutions directly to nearly a thousand industry leaders in short 10–12 minute sessions. Every presenting company will automatically enter the IRF R2T Ignite Award competition, with daily winners selected through delegate voting and an expert jury evaluation.
Registration and Participation Details
Early-bird registration discounts are available until September 3, 2026, after which fees will increase by 10 percent. Registration is priced at $899 for IRF members and $999 for non-members, with discounted categories available for speakers, government officials and students. The full-paper submission deadline is August 5, 2026, and accepted papers will be eligible for publication in the Scopus-indexed IRF proceedings.
